地理信息科學與智慧城市
I have studied CUHK’s GeoInforamtion science Msc program for one year. As a Msc program in Hong Kong, it provided a great research experience and first-class education condition to me. All the 8 courses are advanced in the latest geographic science field. And I must say that the lectures professors provided are vivid and professional to a new master in reading, particularly a student coming from non-English speaking area.
Lectures who taught the program are very famous in geography, especially in GIS. And their kind attitude promises a good chance for students to walk in the research field. The very excited point is that this program combines theory and practice together in one course. Students can always conduct their lab researches after lectures.
I really love these guys there, and my student life in CUHK is the very best year of my youth life.
I never regret having chosen here once even though I’m not working at Geoinformation Science now. The course enhances my scientific thinking and cultivates my academic insistence which is really important when entering workplace in this Internet age. All the experiences in life are treasures which will bring inspiration into life in the future.
Thanks for the relaxed and rigorous academic atmosphere here.
Thanks for the cute and professional professors I met.
And I hope you can find your own inspiration of life here.
During the period of studying in this programme, I am impressed by the project which is required by almost every course. Since I have less experience on conducting a project, it promotes me to read related articles and papers in order to grasp the methodology and concept of specific topic. Furthermore, I also discussed with my teammates about everything in the project even stay up late in lab. That’s kind of special experience for me and it makes me to be closer with classmates.
After graduated from my BSc degree, I was eager to conduct another Master degree. In 2012, I made a decision of choosing the MSc Geoinformation Science Programme, organised by Geography Resource Management, CUHK and graduated in 2013.
The Programme is a very comprehensive training, which covers the basic Geoinformation Science concept to advanced Remote Sensing and other computer programming technique. The knowledge that I acquired through the course enriching my knowledge in GIS. In addition, such technique can also apply to my daily operation, for example, presentation of comprehensive information, through simple infographic presentation.
I would really like to recommend the Programme to my friends and colleagues.
GIS techniques are nowadays expanding into all fields where spatial analysis plays an important role. The MSc Geoinformation Science Program provides a solid conceptual framework and technical know-how. It improved my skills of spatial analysis and made me more competitive in my career. Also, studying at the department was a good way of meeting people with similar interests, I made a lot of friends with various backgrounds.
All in all, I found the study at the Department of Geography Resource Management is quite enjoyable and worthwhile.
